Eligibility for Candidacy

In accordance with the revised National Youth Policy (NYP) of 2010 adopted by the National Assembly in July 2011 and BNYC Statutes,

a candidate shall be eligible for election into the District Youth Committee (DYC) if he or she is:-

A Botswana citizen with a valid National identity card (Omang).
Aged between eighteen (18) and thirty-five (35) years.
Of good conduct with no criminal record.
A holder of minimum requirements of Cambridge certificate for Chairperson and or Deputy Chairperson, Certificate in HR or related

field for Secretary General and professional accounting background for Treasurer.

Not actively involved in party politics, i.e. shall not be holding any political party positions or involved in addressing or participating

in political party fora as a party activist.

The Local Elections Committee shall demand that each candidate complete a declaration form of indemnity in view of, but not limited

to criminal record, political party politics and educational qualifications, etc.
